With the introduction of the nano aquarium the demand for attractive small aquarium animals has also increased. Besides shrimps and small crustaceans we also increased our offer with attractive colored snails enormously.
The Neritina turrita is a very fine snail to as the picture makes clear. In terms of behavior it is very useful, they are much in motion and leave the plants alone. They are real "scavengers" of food waste and decaying plant leaves. Because of their appearance and behavior they quickly became very popular. These snails are originally from Indonesia, Sumatra from the brackish water canals and the lakes.
Per 1 liter water, we recommend adding 10 grams of sea salt.Be carefull with medication as they are very sensitive to these. They can be fed with food tablets and some lettuce or spinach and the temperature can be between 20 and 28 degrees Celsius. Eventually they can be about 35 mm. Unlike many other snails you do not have to worry about overpopulation. They will occasionally lay eggs in freshwater but these will only hatch in brackish water.
